As she delves into the mystery, she uncovers a web of secrets tied to her family's past. With a spectral ally and a budding romance with the detective, Molly navigates a world of intrigue and danger. This gripping tale blends mystery, romance, and the paranormal, promising a cozy whodunit that keeps you guessing till the end.

Work in Progress
I am 35,000 words in on my current work in progress—book 2 in the Harrington House Series. The working title is Murder in the Rose Garden. The victim, a local event planner, is found dead in the country club garden. After this book, I plan on returning to the Mariposa Café Mysteries. What do you think might come after Redemption in Mariposa Beach?

Travel
In June, I went to Cincinnati to visit my daughter, Tina, and granddaughter, Luna. We visited the Cincinnati Zoo, The Cincinnati Art Museum, Krohn Conservatory, and the Pompeii Exhibit at the Museum Center.

    The Union Terminal      Art Museum
Two friends (Sue and Trish) and I went to Las Vegas for a few days. It was great fun hanging out and catching up. We went to the Mob Museum, which was cool. It had a Speakeasy in the basement! We saw the botanical garden and the Chihuly ceiling at the Bellagio, the Bellagio dancing fountains, took a ride in a gondola, and went to an event at the Sphere. We rented a cabana and had a pool day at the resort. There’s nothing like reconnecting with girlfriends to keep you grounded.
 Speakeasy at Mob Museum
In July, two friends (Sue and Lory) and I went to St. Augustine for a few days. We did The Lighthouse Dark of the Moon tour, a trolley ghost tour, tastings at the City Gate Distillery and the St. Augustine Distillery, a candy factory tour, and candy tasting. We also had some nice dinners. I came home with whiskey, moonshine, chocolates, and COVID.
The Old Jail - very spooky
I’ve recovered from the bout with COVID, but I had a rough week. Be careful out there. This new strain is BAD.

Upcoming Events
In August, I’m headed to Nashville for two conferences back to back – Killer Nashville and then to Bouchercon where I’m moderating a cozy mystery panel. In September, I’m off to Sleuthfest in St. Petersburg. More info on my website.

What have you been reading and watching?

I’ve read a lot in the last few weeks. If you’re in the mood for fun, cozy mysteries, check out Gator Queen by Tara Lush and Killing Time by Suzanne Trauth.
I learned a lot about horse racing from reading Death by Equine by Annette Dashofy. She kept me guessing as to the killer until the very end. I suspected, but I wasn’t sure.
Secluded Cabin, Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger was suspenseful and made me wonder about short-term vacation rentals.
I found an older Tami Hoag thriller, A Thin Dark Line, at a library giveaway and thoroughly enjoyed it, though had to laugh at a few parts—there were limited mobile phones in the late 90s.
I listened to four Harriet Gordon mysteries by A. M. Stuart set in 1920s Singapore and loved them, Singapore Sapphire, Revenge in Rubies, Evil in Emerald, and Terror in Topaz.
Our book club read Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Have you read these two books? Thoughts? What are your book club selections?

Have you watched the latest season of Bridgerton?  I enjoyed Colin and Penelope’s love story. Of the three Bridgerton seasons, what is your favorite Bridgerton Love Story: Daphne and the Duke, Anthony and Kate, or Colin and Penelope? My favorite character is Eloise, and I’m looking forward to her season.

Until next time – take care. Thank you for reading my books!
