Molly: Well, it’s not exactly an estate, but it’s our family’s legacy. We didn’t want to see it replaced by another subdivision. I’m sure my great-grandfather would’ve had a few choice words if we’d let that happen.
Ellie: What makes you and Kevin uniquely qualified to run a B&B?
Molly: I have a degree in Hospitality Management, and I worked in marketing and events at one of Cincinnati's top hotels. Our chef, Elise Parker, trained at the Culinary Institute of America and at La Cuisine Paris. Kevin is a contractor and did most of the renovations himself. It took nearly a year, but we finally opened last October.
Ellie: You’ve been back in town less than a year. Is there anything you’re looking forward to about tonight?
Molly: We’ve been so focused on the B&B lately—it’s refreshing to dress up and enjoy a night out. The country club always does such an excellent job.
Ellie: You look stunning tonight.
Molly: Thank you. My Aunt Vanessa helped me pull this outfit together. She has a great eye.
Ellie: Harrington House made headlines recently when bestselling author and local celebrity, Aubrey Rhodes, passed away after his book launch party at your B&B. Can you speak to how that affected your business?
Molly: Yes, it was a tragic loss. To clarify, he wasn’t found in his room; he was discovered on the terrace the morning after the event. At first, we worried it might impact our bookings, and we did have a few cancellations. But surprisingly, guests now request the Terrace Room. I think people are drawn to the mystery.
Ellie: One more thing - There are whispers that Harrington House might be haunted. Any truth to those rumors?
Molly (smiling): You’ll have to book a night at the B&B and see if you have any otherworldly experiences. You never know—you might see a flickering light or feel a chill in the air.
