The Silver Falchion Award recognizes excellence in the best books published in the previous year. Congratulations to the finalists and writers on the Judges’ Top Picks. Killer Nashville will award this year's Silver Falchion awards in each genre at the annual conference in August.

Update on The Wedding Planner’s Secret.
The manuscript is with the publisher, and we are finalizing the cover designs. Stay tuned for a cover reveal very soon. I anticipate a publication date in the Fall but will let you all know here first when I receive the final date!

Here’s the updated blurb:

Murder wasn’t on the guest list.
In The Wedding Planner’s Secret, Molly Harrington, co-owner of Harrington House Bed-and-Breakfast, becomes entangled in a murder mystery after discovering the wedding planner's lifeless body in the garden during a country club event. As romance sparks with the handsome detective, Molly uncovers hidden connections and rising tensions that lead to dangerous encounters. With the help of her great-aunt Elnora's spirit, Molly must navigate a web of secrets and suspects while seeking the truth before becoming the next victim. This engaging tale blends mystery, romance, and the paranormal, promising a cozy whodunit that keeps you guessing until the end.

Works in Progress:
I have two works in progress going, one for book #3 of the Harrington House B&B series and one for book #5 of the Mariposa Café Series. It's too soon to know any details. We’ll see which one takes off.

Events:
I just spent a lovely evening at the Vistera of Venice Community Center at an Author Talk. We discussed my road to publication, the publishing industry, my writing process, writing craft, books, and more. If your book club or community center is reading my books and would like me to attend your meeting, either in person or via Zoom, please contact me at teresamichaelauthor@gmail.com.

In September, I will be attending the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention in New Orleans and will be moderating a panel discussion on “Romance in Crime Fiction.” Charlaine Harris, the author of the True Blood and Midnight Texas series, is one of the panelists. I am totally fangirling!  I am a big fan of both of those series and the TV shows. For more information on Bouchercon, HOME | Bouchercon2025

What have you been reading and watching?
Do you watch The Gilded Age on HBO Max?  I enjoy historicals and this is one of my favorites. I’m a  Christine Baranski fan. She is excellent in her role. Speaking of historicals, I recently read Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord by Celeste Connelly – think Bridgerton with a murder. I enjoyed Lady Petra’s exploits in this Regency adventure. Celeste Connelly is also on my Bouchercon panel. This month, I read Y is for Yesterday by Sue Grafton. It’s sad that this was Kinsey Millhone’s last case. And I read The Adoption by my fellow Sisters in Crime author, Jenna Kernan, The Five Year Lie by Sarina Brown, and By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult, an interesting take on who really wrote for and with William Shakespeare. What have you been reading and watching?

My daughter Tina came to visit from Cincinnati. It’s unusual for the three of us to be together more than once or twice a year.  Hug your kids and grandkids every chance you get.

If you have a moment and liked my books, please leave a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Authors depend on reviews to get the word out about their books. It doesn’t have to be long—just a sentence or two, which is greatly appreciated.
